Right Click on My Computer

Click on Properties

Then click on Device Manager

Now Device Manager window will appear

In this, Double Click on PORTS (COM & LPT)

Then, Double Click on Comunications Port

Now select Port Settings tab

Change Bits per second value to 128,000

And change the flow control to hardware

Now Click on OK

That's all, you have done !!! And when you browse the internet again, definitely you will feel the difference in speed.

Here is a simple way to double the speed of your internet provided you are using Windows.

1. Go to run from the start menu, then type (Regedit).

2. Go to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE then Software then Microsoft then Windows then CurrentVersion then Explorer then RemoteComputer then Namespace.

3. You will find this value {D6277990-4C6A-11CF-8D87-00AA0060F5BF}.

4. If you find it then right click on it and delete you will find the browser is faster.

This is because this registry makes the browser look for shared (remote) files/folder.

1. Go to start / run and then type in “gpedit.msc” (without the quote)

2. After the screen has loaded click on “Local Computer Policy”

3. Click “Computer Configuration”

4. Administrative Templates

5. Network

6. Qos Packet Scheduler

7. Look for “Limit reservable bandwidth”

8. After the loading, click on the radio button “Enabled”

9. Then set the “Bandwith limit %” to zero (the smaller the number, the better)

10. That’s it! It’s done…

1. Select Control Panel from the Start menu

2. Click Network Connections from the Control Panel choices

3. Choose your connection from the Network Connections window

4. Click Properties button

5. Select Internet Protocol (TCP/IP) and click Properties.

6. Click the radio button Use the following DNS server addresses and type in OpenDNS addresses in the Preferred DNS server and Alternate DNS server fields

Preferred DNS server address for Open DNS is:

* 208.67.222.222

Alternate DNS server address for Open DNS is:

* 208.67.220.220
